    A journey through time. Walk where legends linger. Discover Thessaloniki's soul from the White Tower to the Rotunda, Kamara and Aristotelous Square.

    1. Aristotelous Square

    • Start your tour here. This is the heart of Thessaloniki, a grand square that opens up to the sea. Admire the neoclassical buildings, grab a coffee at one of the many cafes, and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

    2. The White Tower

    • Walk south along Nikis Avenue until you reach the White Tower, Thessaloniki’s most iconic landmark. This 15th-century structure was once a prison and now houses a museum. Climb to the top for panoramic views of the city and the Thermaic Gulf.

    3. The Rotunda

    • Head northeast along the waterfront and then north up towards the Rotunda. This massive cylindrical building was originally a Roman mausoleum, then a church, and later a mosque. It’s now a museum with stunning mosaics inside.

    4. Arch of Galerius (Kamara)

    • A short walk away is the Arch of Galerius, also known as Kamara. This triumphal arch was built to celebrate Emperor Galerius’s victories. The intricate carvings depict scenes from his campaigns.

    5. Church of Hagia Sophia

    • Nearby is the Church of Hagia Sophia, one of Thessaloniki’s oldest churches. This UNESCO World Heritage site is modeled after its namesake in Constantinople and features beautiful Byzantine mosaics.

    6. Atatürk Museum

    • Continue your walk to the Atatürk Museum, the birthplace of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. The house is a museum dedicated to his life and the relationship between Greece and Turkey.

    7. The Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki

    • Head back down towards the city center and visit the Jewish Museum, which offers insights into the history of the Jewish community in Thessaloniki, which was once one of the largest in Europe before WWII.

    8. Kapani Markets

    • End your tour with a visit to this lively market. Located close to Aristotelous Square, Kapani Market offer a glimpse into the daily life of locals. You can find everything from fresh produce to local delicacies here.
